1. Only eat when you’re truly hungry. Are you eating to live or living to eat? Since food is often readily available, we frequently eat when we’re not truly hungry. When your body needs energy, it tells you that you’re hungry. Thus, this should be the only reason for you to eat. Keep in mind that your stomach is only the size of your fist. So you don’t need a ton of food to fill it up!
2. Eat several small meals throughout the day. Instead of eating three large meals, eat 5-6 small ones instead. This will help to prevent you from becoming hungry, which will consequently reduce the amount of snacking that you do. If possible, include most of the meals in the early part of the day.
3. Be selective about snacks. This is another method for losing weight quickly. For instance, many of us plop down on the sofa after dinnertime, and watch TV while snacking. The purpose of this snacking oftentimes isn’t to satisfy our hunger, but simply to complete a daily ritual! If you’re going to snack, try and stick to ones that are low in calories and fats.
4. Eat your snacks outside your home. This will help to limit the quantity of snacks that you eat. One of the best methods is to walk to the location of the snacks. In fact, if you have a family then you could make it a family outing!
